Lawrence Shankland responds to Rangers question after what happened with Hearts
Lawrence Shankland has reacted to the Scottish Cup semi-final draw which will see his Hearts side face Rangers at Hampden Park, as he admitted it will be a tough game.
The striker, who had been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox in January, admitted his team can learn from the 3-1 defeat in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.
He went on to insist that the team is looking forward to facing Philippe Clement’s side and will make a good go of it in an attempt to reach the final.
Speaking live on BBC Sportscene [11 March, 2:24:18], Shankland reacted: “It’ll be a tough game. When you’re in a semi-final, it’s always going to be difficult.
“We’ve got the experience in the last cup semi-final and we didn’t play that well, our game plan didn’t really work, but hopefully we can redeem that this time.
“It’s always going to be tough when you get to this stage of the competition, there are a lot of good teams left and we’ll go and give it a go. We’re looking forward to it.”
Lawrence Shankland responds to latest Rangers development
There appears to be a rousing determination at Hearts to get one over on the Ibrox club given their struggles in that particular fixture this season, with Shankland’s comments a display of that desire.
This comes shortly after Hearts boss Steven Naismith shared his view on the semi-final draw, confessing that his team are hungry to lift the trophy at Rangers’ expense, having learned from their meeting in the League Cup semi at Hampden.
The last time these sides met, Clement’s men ran out 5-0 winners, and they will be looking to turn in a repeat performance to reach their second final, and hopefully lift their second trophy, under the Belgian boss.

Shankland, meanwhile, could well have been part of this Rangers team on the other side of the semi-final clash, but any discussion and rumours about that potential deal will be put on hold as he focuses on leading his current club to silverware.
