Rangers clinch Scottish Cup semi-final spot with Hibernian win

It threatened to be a difficult evening for Philippe Clement and his players, with the home fans providing a hostile atmosphere at Easter Road.

But the visitors quickly took control after John Lundstram followed up James Tavernier’s missed penalty to generate a 1-0 lead.

The home side were then the masters of their own downfall, with both Jordan Obita and Nathan Moriah-Welsh sent off in a feisty encounter.

Then came the second goal of the game from Wolves loanee Silva to clinch a spot in the semi-finals, with the Ibrox side remaining on track for a quadruple this season.

A last four Scottish Cup place has now been secured, with the Gers also in contention to lift the Scottish Premiership and Europa League trophies, having already won this season’s League Cup.
