Rangers: Keith Jackson names Ryan Jack after ‘Shock’ question in Daily Record
Keith Jackson believes that Ryan Jack could be in contention for a “shock” Scotland call-up, despite making just five league starts for Rangers this season.
Injuries have blighted the midfielder’s campaign so far, but when fit, he is one of the first names on Philippe Clement’s teamsheet at Ibrox.
With 18 international caps on his CV already, Jack could add some much-needed experience to the Scotland squad ahead of the 2024 European Championships.
When asked if he could predict any “shock” call-ups by Steve Clarke, Jackson replied via Daily Record on Monday (11 March, page 39): “It’ll be interesting to see if Clarke chooses to take a close look at Craig Gordon as he hasn’t seen enough of him in a Hearts shirt since the keeper’s comeback.
“Ryan Jack comes into a similar category now that he’s back and available for Rangers.”
Can Rangers’ Ryan Jack claim a spot at Euro 2024 with Scotland?
With the plethora of Scottish talent currently performing well in Europe, with John McGinn, Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and Stuart Armstrong, it could be a very difficult call.
The national team have been absolutely flying in recent matches and will need their best players as they come up against Germany, Hungary and Switzerland in Group A at the tournament.
Though Jack has only made five league starts so far this season, he still has the remainder of the campaign to impress, and Clement will be keen to get him back into the lineup.

Rangers are competing for more silverware, having claimed the Scottish League Cup with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen in December, with the Scottish Premiership and Europa League titles in their sights.
The 32-year-old midfielder could still play a key role in the Gers’ season, with an upcoming second leg in the Europa League round of 16 against Benfica on Thursday 14 March.
This is one to watch.
