Rangers injury news: Zak Lovelace could be out for two months at Ibrox in new update

Rangers attacker Zak Lovelace has suffered a torn hamstring injury and is set to be out of action for up to two months, according to Chris Jack.

Writing on the Rangers Review website (9 March), the journalist reports that the B team forward suffered the injury during the midweek clash with Royal Antwerp.

He was substituted during the game as a precautionary measure initially, but after a scan revealed the extent of the damage he is now set to be out for the foreseeable future.

Rangers injury curse continues

Yet another Rangers injury in attack this season means the curse of Ibrox doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.

Ross McCausland recently avoided serious injury to the shock of Ally McCoist but Oscar Cortes is out for two months while Abdallah Sima, Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Rabbi Matondo and Danilo are all out for a little while.

That has led to Philippe Clement being forced to play Dujon Sterling and Fabio Silva out of position in the wide areas, but the team has continued to perform well and get results.

It was possibly an opportunity for young players to come into the side and get minutes too, with the likes of Cole McKinnon getting an appearance from the bench in the 2-2 draw with Benfica.

But if there is to be another attacking opportunity such as the one that saw McCausland get his chance, Lovelace now won’t be available after this latest blow.
