Rangers: Jim White details ‘shock’ after what happened when he was with Philippe Clement
Jim White has said the “Souness and Clement night at the Armadillo” on Sunday was “quite a night” after Celtic were beaten by Hearts.
Rangers lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell last time out which opened the door for their rivals to capitalise. However, they fell to a 2-1 loss at Tynecastle Park.
White, who was up on stage with Graham Souness along with Gers’ boss Philippe Clement and goalkeeper Jack Butland, said everyone was in party mood after learning the Hoops failed to win.
He has said on talkSPORT (5 March): “Rangers lost on Saturday to Motherwell, then as soon as myself, Philippe Clement and Jack Butland were up on a stage on Sunday night and much to everybody’s surprise, and no disrespect to Hearts, Celtic lost.
“The great and the good that came on Sunday night, we were in the mood to celebrate. Even the neutrals who were there had a blast. It was quite a night. It really was.”
Rangers benefit from Celtic blunder
Rangers got away with one last weekend and need to ensure they play better in their next outing. They had 31 shots against Motherwell, 11 of which were on target, but were only able to get one goal.
The Gers conceded too soft goals and will be eager to tighten things up at the back ahead of their upcoming fixture. They are back in European action this week against Benfica.
Many though that Celtic would take advantage of Clement’s side slipping up but they weren’t able to and Hearts got the better of them.
The Hoops have been inconsistent in this campaign under Brendan Rodgers and are two points behind at this moment in time.

The pair play each other on 7th April and that match could go a long way to deciding who wins the title this term, especially if they are still neck and neck in terms of points tally by then.
In other Rangers news, they have been tipped to sign a Motherwell star.
