Rangers: David Edgar sends one-word reaction as Todd Cantwell drops fresh injury hint

David Edgar has sent a one-word reaction after Rangers’ Todd Cantwell dropped a hint amid a possible return from injury on Monday (4 March).

The in-form English midfielder has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and has not made an appearance since the Gers’ 3-0 victory over St Johnstone (18 February).

Cantwell has emerged as a key player under Philippe Clement this season and posted on X to suggest he would be back in the thick of the action soon.

Reacting to the star’s fresh hint via X on Monday (4 March), Edgar simply wrote: “Good!”

Todd Cantwell’s return will be widely anticipated at Rangers

Cantwell has had his ups and downs in a Rangers shirt, sometimes being a key player and at others coming in for criticism from pundits.

However, ever since Clement was appointed as Rangers boss in October, the 26-year-old has become a vital part of the Belgian’s lineup, starting 17 of their 29 league matches.

Cantwell has seriously improved with his goal contributions, stepping up like a true leader as the Blues target their second Scottish Premiership title in four seasons.

Of course, there is still room for improvement and, at 26 years of age, Cantwell still has a few years until he hits his prime, but five goals and three assists is a significant change to his form.

Todd Cantwell’s time at Rangers could well be up this summer.

The reaction from fans to his most recent post shows you everything you need to know about the midfielder’s impact this season. He is one of the first names on the teamsheet when he can avoid injuries.

With the additions of Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes, and Nico Raskin, Ryan Jack and Tom Lawrence returning from injury, Cantwell’s injury has not been as devastating, but his return will be widely anticipated in the run-in to the end of the season.
