Rangers: Chris Sutton singles out Todd Cantwell with new jibe after what he has seen

Chris Sutton appeared to reignite his ongoing spat with Rangers star Todd Cantwell as he made another comment, although he admitted the midfielder’s performances have improved.

The ex-Celtic man has been involved in a long-running dispute with the former Norwich star, which was brought up again as Sutton labelled him “TikTok Todd”.

He did, however, confess that he has started to perform under Philippe Clement, despite his current injury keeping him out of action at Ibrox.

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off [4 March], Ian Ladyman asked: “We’ve sat here several times slagging off Michael Beale and, who’s the lad at Rangers, used to play for Norwich?”

“Todd Cantwell, TikTok Todd. He’s doing alright now but he’s injured,” Sutton answered.

Sutton’s latest dig, albeit one prompted by the question he was asked, could reignite the long-running dispute between the pair which has included countless swipes and digs whenever the midfielder was involved in a key moment at Ibrox.

However, the dispute has appeared to calm in recent times, although Sutton has proven he can’t resist making comments when prompted.

At least he was able to admit there has been an upturn in the form of the Englishman since Clement arrived at Ibrox, although even that has not been entirely plain sailing for Cantwell.

He was widely criticised by many after appearing on a podcast in which he discussed his footballing career so far, with Kris Boyd joining Sutton in slamming the midfielder, urging him to just focus on football instead of the circus off the field.

Recently, though, Cantwell’s performances have stepped up and he has been able to show what he can do at Ibrox, and will likely continue to do so when he recovers from his injury.
