Rangers: Four Lads hit out after yet another controversy v Kilmarnock
Four Lads Had a Dream have slammed the Scottish Premiership officials after Rangers were denied another penalty decision against Kilmarnock on Wednesday 28 February.
Fans were livid after referee David Dickinson chose not to award a penalty to the Gers, with Lewis Mayo seemingly handling the ball in the Killie box after punishing John Lundstram in the first half in a controversial decision.
Danny Armstrong slammed the penalty past Jack Butland, with Kilmarnock taking an early lead, and if not for James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence, there could have been a much different feeling in the fanbase.
Reacting to the decisions via X on Thursday (29 February), Four Lads wrote: “For those paying attention, Rangers didn’t get awarded two on-field penalties at St Johnstone and another blatant shout at Kilmarnock was ignored also by the on-field ref.
“VAR corrected St Johnstone but decided against Killie when it was clear. The penalty against us last night was also never a penalty. Not to mention decent shouts against Ross County on Silva and Ayr on Cortes
“That’s five big decisions refs haven’t given or have ‘missed’ in recent weeks. The little ‘penalty to Rangers’ campaign has certainly had an effect.”
Should Rangers be awarded more penalties in the Scottish Premiership?
Like any league in football, all teams should be treated equally and fairly. If Rangers earn more penalties, because they are in the opposition box more and draw more fouls than other sides, they should not be punished for that.
That should go without saying. But there has always been a concern from fans of a certain Old Firm rival that the Gers are favoured over all other teams in the Scottish Premiership. These decisions, or lack of, prove exactly the opposite.
With the use of VAR, referees should be able to make the correct decision every single time, and although human error is still an aspect, it should be considerably diminished in the sport.
However, Rangers have missed out on several decisions in their favour, which could have played a major role in the title race against Celtic if not for the new-found mentality installed by Philippe Clement.

Even from losing positions, there remains confidence that Clement’s side will be able to secure all three points after completing a comeback, which is exactly what happened against Kilmarnock, with no help from the officials.
Even the Belgian was extremely cynical of the decisions, too, questioning the referee after completing the 2-1 comeback victory over Kilmarnock.
