Rangers admission made by Keith Jackson after Celtic Park development
Keith Jackson claims that the Celtic fans got even louder v Dundee after learning Kilmarnock had taken the lead against Rangers.
Writing in the Daily Record on 29 February after the Hoops won 7-1, Jackson alluded to the fact that the defending champions were still very much on track to fight for the title this season.
Gers maintained their lead at the top of the league as they managed to win 2-1 at Rugby Park.
Jackson wrote: ” Six goals before the half-time whistle had reduced Dundee’s defence to a write-off and that seemed perfectly fitting given their own journey to Glasgow’s east end included a breakdown just a few miles out from the scene of this car crash.
“Indeed it was difficult not to rubberneck at the carnage the champions were leaving in their rear-view mirror such was the extent of the damage being done to anyone daft enough to turn up in a dark blue shirt.
“Carter-Vickers got the spirits soaring when he climbed at the back post to meet Matt O’Riley’s sand wedge of a free-kick and smash a header into the roof of Trevor Carson’s net. But the roof really came off soon after when word filtered up the M77 of Kilmarnock’s opener against Rangers.”
Rangers hold the edge over Celtic in the SPFL title race
Rangers’ two-point lead in the league gives them control over their destiny because they hold the power to maintain or extend their advantage.
Despite Celtic’s formidable 7-1 win against Dundee, Gers remain in the driver’s seat.
The Old Fim derby in April adds a crucial element to the title race as this match could heavily influence the outcome of the season, with Gers needing to secure a positive result to solidify their lead.
The recent victory for Celtic underscores the importance of Philippe Clement’s side maintaining consistency and high performance levels.
It serves as a stark reminder that any slip-up could jeopardise their lead and allow Celtic to capitalise.
The unpredictability of the title race means that Gers must remain vigilant and focused until the end of the season.

Their fate is in their own hands, but they must navigate through challenges, including tough fixtures and resilient opponents like Celtic, to secure the league title.
