Rangers: Hibernian ticket update with Easter Road shareholders furious
By Jack Harrison.
Hibernian CEO Ben Kensell has admitted that the club are considering slashing Rangers’ ticket allocations at Easter Road due to fan misbehaviour, via Football Scotland.
Fans of both Glasgow clubs have let off pyrotechnics in the away end at Easter Road this season, which prompted a “furious” response from Hibs’ shareholders demanding action from the board.
When asked whether they had considered reducing the away allocation which currently stands at 3,600, Kensell said: “Of course. As Hearts have, as other clubs have. It’s our prerogative in the SPFL to reduce allocations, if we wish.”
Rangers fans causing issues away from Ibrox?
Rangers’ next trip to the capital to face Hibs is a Scottish Cup quarter-final clash on March 10.
They hope to be joined by 3,600 of their supporters in the repeat of the 2015-16 final, but it seems likely that Hibs will follow other clubs and slash the Rangers allocation.
With Rangers being such a huge club, their supporters take over away grounds and make the atmosphere seem like a home match.
With crucial away trips to Kilmarnock, Dundee and Ross County on the horizon amid their hopes of snatching the Scottish Premiership away from Celtic, the massive support in away games is more crucial than ever.

Rangers have won 10 out of 13 away league games this season but if other Premiership clubs follow suit and reduce Rangers’ away allocations, their outstanding away form may suffer.
After winning the Scottish League Cup in December, Rangers are on course for a potential domestic treble and the players will want to see as many blue shirts in the away ends as possible.
