Rangers: Jack Butland makes new Ibrox transfer admission amid Nottingham Forest interest
Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland has admitted he was never tempted to leave Ibrox during the January transfer window, despite interest from the Premier League.
The Englishman has been in excellent form for Philippe Clement’s side this season, but his good form hasn’t gone unnoticed elsewhere and Nottingham Forest were understood to be interested during the January transfer window.
That bid was quickly rebuffed by the Light Blues, but Butland himself has suggested he wasn’t keen to make a return to England because of the relationship he has created with the Gers during his time in Glasgow.
As quoted by BBC Sport on Monday (26 February) he said: “None. There’s a feeling and a connection here that I haven’t felt at a club for a long time. You don’t give that up easily.
“The eight months I’ve spent here have been a really, really special period in my career. This goes to the top [in terms of happiness] because it’s almost like a reward for the perseverance and patience I showed.”
Will Jack Butland transfer away from Rangers this summer?
Rangers supporters will be able to breathe a sigh of relief hearing this latest admission from Butland as it seems that the England international will be staying at Ibrox for the foreseeable future.
Since he arrived in Glasgow, Butland has gone from strength to strength between the posts and has arguably been one of Clement and Michael Beale’s best players this season with consistently excellent performances.

A lot can change in a few months in football and the interest won’t go anywhere if the 30-year-old continues to shine throughout the remainder of the season, but it doesn’t seem as though he’d be pushing for an exit.
Hopefully, Butland’s patience and perseverance will continue to be rewarded over the next few months and the Rangers keeper will be able to get his hands on one or two pieces of silverware.
