Rangers: Kris Boyd responds as Celtic fans shout at him in Sky Sports studio at Motherwell

Kris Boyd has reminded Celtic fans about the two-point gap Rangers currently maintain over their side at the top of the SPL.

Hoops fans were spotted shouting at the former Gers forward in the Sky Sports studio after their last-gasp victory over Motherwell on Sunday (25 February).

After presenter Eilidh Barbour mentioned the incident, the pundit said there are a few happy people about the Parkhead club cutting the gap from five points down to two, with the Light Blues still in the driving seat following their 5-0 win over Hearts on Saturday (24 February).

“There are a few happy people about cutting the gap from five points to two,” said Boyd.

“Are they your mates?” asked Barbour. “They are shouting something at you.”

“There are a few happy ones, wow,” added Boyd.

Rangers firmly on top despite Celtic victory

It was certainly a much-needed victory for Celtic as two injury-time goals secured them all three points against Motherwell after going in behind at half-time.

The Hoops would have known they simply had to pick up a win, otherwise, it would have been extremely difficult to bridge the gap against an in-form Rangers side.

It’s no surprise to see Boyd get a bit of stick after what he achieved at Ibrox and because he doesn’t often speak kindly about the Parkhead club, just like his fellow Sky Sports pundit Chris Sutton doesn’t about the Gers.

Rangers
Kris Boyd doesn’t hide his love for Rangers very often in his punditry work.

Philippe Clement will be feeling very good about his side’s title hopes after their convincing victory over what was a Hearts team that came into the game in great form.

It’s another weekend where the Light Blues are coming out of it on top of the SPL table and that will certainly please one half of Glasgow.
