Celtic fan fury mooted amid £82m news as Rangers up the ante – Sky Sports pundit
Andy Walker reckons Celtic fans will be fuming given the club’s lack of spending and Rangers’ recent resurgence.
The Hoops announced on 23 February that their revenue has rocketed to £82million.
However, Gers have returned to the summit of the SPFL and are now in the driver’s seat to win the title.
Walker, a Sky Sports pundit, told Go Radio, as transcribed by Daily Record: “I don’t think it will wash. I think Celtic had a month to realise first and foremost that Rangers were improving.
“They’ve got a manager that has made some remarkable strides in terms of improving individual players and as a team. Results are getting better and for too long now Celtic’s form, play and standard of football has not been a joy to watch.
“You take these things to one side, of course Celtic have been well run for a number of years. The player trading model has been hugely successful and no one would deny that. But why are you taking a gamble on not strengthen with one or two players of some pedigree knowing that Rangers are improving and giving yourself the best possible chance to get this very important title, given what is at stake at the end of it.
“The financial results would be even more impressive should they win the title. If they were to lose it who is to blame? It’s a really strange one.”
Rangers have drastically improved under Clement
Celtic fans have every right to be furious due to the lack of ambition and investment in strengthening the team, especially during a crucial transfer window.
Despite boasting impressive financial figures, the club’s failure to secure significant signings contrasts sharply with the evident improvement of Rangers.
The importance of reinforcing the squad to maintain competitiveness in the Premiership, particularly in the race for the title against a resurgent Gers side, cannot be overstated.
The frustration stems from the belief that Celtic missed a vital opportunity to bolster their chances and meet the expectations of their fanbase.
It’s also a great time to support Gers as their proactive approach in strengthening the team, coupled with their recent successes and momentum, instils confidence and excitement among supporters.

Investment in quality signings and their evident progress under a promising Philippe Clement contrasts with Celtic’s perceived stagnation, providing fans with optimism and pride in their team’s direction and prospects for success.
In other Rangers, a disgraceful video clip of Michael Beale at Sunderland shows why Gers are much better now.
