Borna Barisic and Scott Wright axed – Predicted Rangers XI v Hearts

Philippe Clement could be set to make several changes to his Rangers starting lineup for the big SPFL game versus Hearts on Saturday afternoon.

The Gers moved to the top of the table with a 3-0 win over St Johnstone last time out, and will get the chance to move five points clear at the top of the table with a win at Ibrox with Celtic not playing until Sunday.

But the boss has some decisions to make with his starting lineup, with injuries and a busy schedule likely to see fresh faces come into the side.

Rangers success built on defence

In goal Jack Butland has been nothing short of spectacular for the team since arriving on a free transfer in the summer, and he has established himself as the best goalkeeper in the country.

Ahead of him Clement has ensure the defence is always solid and, and that is likely to continue once again. James Tavernier got two more goals from the penalty spot last time out while Connor Goldson and John Souttar continued their excellent partnership.

But at left-back both Ridvan Yilmaz and Borna Barisic have seen their futures be the subject of speculation, but the Turkish defender has been more impressive recently and should get the nod for this tough fixture.

Changes expected in midfield for Rangers

Midfield has been a difficult position for Clement to navigate since he came to the club, and that looks likely to continue again.

Todd Cantwell has joined Kieran Dowell on the sidelines with injury, while Tom Lawrence and Ryan Jack are still having their minutes managed after long spells out themselves. That should allow for the impressive Dujon Sterling to get a start alongside John Lundstram, with January signing Mo Diomande moving further forward.

Oscar Cortes has been hugely impressive on the left wing since his arrival also and should keep his place, while youngster Ross McCausland is likely to come back in on the right ahead of the struggling Scott Wright.

Up front Cyriel Dessers has been in good goalscoring form and is likely to get the nod ahead of Fabio Silva.
