Rangers: Mohamed Diomande now undroppable v Hearts after 100% St Johnstone display
Rangers have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they take on Hearts.
The Edinburgh club travel to Ibrox on Saturday (24 February), with the hosts in first place and the visitors in third.
Philippe Clement will have been absolutely thrilled to have finally overtaken fierce rivals Celtic at the top of the pile, with that superb milestone achieved thanks to a 3-0 win against St Johnstone on Sunday (18 February).
Captain fantastic James Tavernier stole plenty of headlines with his two late penalties, but opening the scoring with a superb strike was recent recruit Mohamed Diomande.
He has had to be somewhat patient for minutes since moving to Ibrox in the winter transfer window, but the midfield man is now simply undroppable for Clement following his display against the Saints.
Not only did he open his Gers account with a stunning long-range goal, but the 22-year-old also registered an 80% pass success rate, with two key passes, as well as making three tackles, two clearances and one interception [Sofascore].
In a fantastic all-round display, he also won all five of his ground duels (100%) and completed his only dribble attempt (100%).
Mohamed Diomande must start for Rangers versus Hearts
The midfielder will surely be one of the first names on the teamsheet when Hearts make the trip to Glasgow on Saturday.

Clement will not want to take his foot off the gas after working so hard to overcome Celtic, who could fall further behind in the standings given that they do not play until Sunday (25 February), away to Motherwell.
In other Rangers news, a “shock” development on goalkeeper Jack Butland is now on the cards at Ibrox.
