Rangers set for £1.2m windfall after new Malik Tillman comments with transfer on cards
Rangers could be set to bank a £1.2m windfall after Malik Tillman confirmed he could move to PSV Eindhoven permanently in the summer transfer window.
Speaking after the Champions League knockout clash with Borussia Dortmund, Tillman has admitted that he would like to continue in the Eredivisie next season as he is playing regularly.
Tillman spent a year on loan at Ibrox before Bayern Munich activated their buy-back option after Rangers triggered their option to make the loan permanent, which entitles them to 10% of any fee Bayern make from selling him permanently.
“For me, it always comes down to playing time or prospects,” he said, as quoted by Daily Record (21 February).
“Hopefully next summer I will look back on the second season in which I regularly played at a high level after being at Rangers last year. That’s how I would like to see it continue.”
Rangers have come out on top with this deal
There were some big question marks about the direction Rangers would take after they missed out on the permanent signing of Malik Tillman.
However it’s fair to say now that the club arguably came out better for it, with the addition of the likes of Danilo, Abdallah Sima and most recently Oscar Cortes instead.
The money used to bring them in was arguably not available if a deal for Tillman had gone through, and they have all performed well since coming in and obviously cover more positions.

It would have been fantastic to see the talent of Tillman performing under Philippe Clement considering the way the Belgian manager has got the team playing and creating chances freely.
But the club are on course to make money from this deal without ever actually owning Tillman, so that can only be a positive thing and fans will be happy to see that Rangers are benefitting from it so much.
