Rangers: James Bisgrove arrives at Hampden Park for crunch SPFL talks

Rangers CEO James Bisgrove has been spotted at Hampden Park ahead of a meeting between all Scottish Premiership clubs and the SPFL board.

The aim of the meeting, as per BBC Sport, will be to discuss an independent report into the organisation’s operations and the subsequent recommendations from it, with 30 different suggestions made to the board.

The 58-page document was commissioned in July after SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan apologised to Rangers as a dispute over sponsorship was concluded.

Taking to X on Monday (19 February), PLZ Soccer posted images of Bisgrove, with the caption: “Rangers CEO James Bisgrove and Celtic counterpart Michael Nicholson arrive at Hampden for meeting of SPFL Premiership Clubs.”

Rangers continue back-and-forth with SPFL

The Gers have a difficult relationship with the SPFL, and other teams in the division, especially considering the previous dispute over sponsorships.

With the opportunity to voice any “serious concerns” from the previous meeting in January, some top-flight clubs felt that the issues surrounding Rangers had not yet been addressed in a well-enough manner.

The hope is that, once all the clubs can come together, any remaining issues will be solved.

Either way, Bisgrove will be able to arrive at the meeting with a massive smile on his face, especially if he is sat next to Nicholson after Philippe Clement’s side knocked Celtic off their perch at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The fate of the Scottish Premiership title is now in the Gers’ hands, and the trophy could land at Ibrox for just the second time in the last 10 campaigns, much to the delight of Rangers fans everywhere.
