Rangers star Todd Cantwell spotted with leg strapped up as Sky pundit details unhappiness

Rangers attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell appeared to be nursing a hamstring injury after he was taken off v St Johnstone on 18 February.

Gers won the game 3-0 and Cantwell started the game was subbed off in the second half with Philippe Clement having a word with him before he headed for the bench.

He was then seen with his leg strapped up which Kenny Miller mooted could be precautionary as well.

He told Sky Sports Football, 01:19pm, 18 Feb: “He wasn’t too happy about coming off. I don’t know if it’s something he’s been carrying a little bit and it’s just a bit of a precaution to make sure he’s going to be ready for the run-in.”

Hope this is not a serious injury for the Rangers player

The sight of Cantwell nursing a hamstring injury raises concerns for Rangers fans, especially considering his importance to the team.

However, the fact that Cantwell walked off the pitch under his own power and engaged in a conversation with Clement before heading for the bench offers a glimmer of hope that the injury may not be too severe.

Potential scenarios could range from a minor strain that requires a brief period of rest and rehabilitation to a more serious tear that could sideline Cantwell for several weeks.

The decision to strap up his leg could indicate a precautionary measure to provide support and stability to the affected area.

Given Cantwell’s reaction and the manager’s interaction with him, it’s possible that the injury may not be as dire as initially feared.

Nonetheless, further assessment and medical evaluation will be crucial in determining the extent of the injury and the timeline for Cantwell’s return to action.
