Rangers: Tom English sends Gers message to Celtic board live on BBC
Tom English says Celtic fans are no longer in a position to mock their Rangers counterparts following their 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.
Celtic’s shaky form continued on home soil on Saturday (17 February) as David Watson struck late to cancel out Kyogo Furuhashi’s opener.
Rangers can now move outright top of the Scottish Premiership if they win their game in hand against St Johnstone on Sunday (18 February).
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland [17 February, 5:13pm], reporter English said: “I think there is a lot of blame to go around.
“There are bad mistakes being made at board level and all stages of board level – Dermot Desmond, Michael Nicholson, Peter Lawwell, the whole lot of them.
“Recruitment is virtually non-existent, but Brendan Rodgers, he doesn’t get a pass, so Celtic fans have an entitlement and they will go ballistic over this.
“They have an expectation to win the league. It won’t happen for them every year; they weren’t expecting a challenge from Rangers.
“They’re used to mocking Rangers and having great fun in mocking Rangers. There’s no laughing matter now for them and they don’t like it.”
Rangers finally have chance to usurp Celtic in Scottish Premiership
Having played catch up for so long, Rangers now have a chance to move outright top of the division by the end of the weekend.
As a reminder, the Light Blues trailed by nine points at the end of December, albeit with games in hand to play.
Whereas Rangers have been near enough faultless since Philippe Clement arrived, Celtic are dropping points left, right and centre.

So often we see one team slip up and then the other follow suit, but that just does not look like happening with the Gers right now.
Nobody is taking St Johnstone for granted, but it is a game you would fully expect Clement’s men to come out on top in.
Celtic fans thought they had the title wrapped up following their second Old Firm victory of the season, but the last laugh may yet be the Gers’.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has shared an “out-and-out dud” assessment on the Gers’ squad prior to Clement’s arrival.
