Rangers: Mark Wilson takes dig at history despite recent Celtic decline
Mark Wilson has stated that Rangers have historically dipped after January while Celtic have continued to up the ante to eventually win the league.
However, the former Hoops defender believes that the tide appears to have turned this time around and the players at Parkhead are feeling the heat amid their recent downturn in form.
Currently, both Old Firm sides are locked on the same points, with Celtic’s goals for (29) keeping them ahead of Gers (23) as both of them have the same goal difference as well.
“The pressure is immense on you. There’s no escaping it really. Even away from the training ground. Once you sign for Celtic or Rangers, you have to expect that.
“For years, Celtic have been going at it after January while Rangers fade away. These Celtic players are experiencing this for the first time now and the Rangers players, the new ones to the club, are finding themselves in an experience that the fans have been used to decades ago. I’ve seen it go the other way too – it (the pressure) makes players crumble.”
Rangers have what it takes to oust Celtic
Rangers’ current momentum is undeniable, marked by strategic changes and bolstered by recent acquisitions. The managerial switch from Michael Beale to Philippe Clement injects fresh perspective and tactical acumen into the team.
Additionally, the appointment signals a commitment to adapt and evolve, vital for sustaining success.
Clement brings a wealth of experience that can galvanize the squad for the challenges ahead.
January signings have significantly strengthened the team, adding depth and quality to various positions.
This injection of new talent revitalises the squad, providing options and competition that drive performance levels higher.
With the squad bolstered and the managerial setup revamped, Gers are better equipped to maintain their form and challenge for the title.
Fans have every reason to be optimistic as Rangers’ performances on the pitch reflect their ambitions.

The parity in points with Celtic, coupled with improved goal-scoring prowess, underscores Rangers’ title credentials and hopefully, a historic 56th title is on the cards for the club come May.
