Rangers: Barry Ferguson can’t believe what he’s seen after ‘crazy’ SPFL development
Rangers and Celtic will battle it out for the Scottish Premiership title right down to the final stages, according to Barry Ferguson.
The two rivals are both on 61 points after the Gers won their game in hand against Ross County on Wednesday (14 February).
With both clubs having played 25 matches, the Bhoys are ahead only on goals scored, having netted 57 goals so far, with the Ibrox outfit scoring 53.
“Put it this way, if you had said to me just four weeks ago that Rangers would wake up on Thursday morning dead level with Celtic on points and goal difference I would have said you were crazy,” Ferguson wrote for the Daily Record.
“I’m not saying the league is won already or that it’s Rangers’ to lose. Of course not. This race will go all the way down to the wire.
“But what I do believe is that the bond which has been built between the players and the supporters will give Rangers the best chance of going all the way.”
Rangers close the gap on Celtic
It has been a long journey to the summit since the days of Michael Beale, but the Gers have now finally closed the gap on their fierce city rivals.
Current boss Philippe Clement must take a lot of the credit for the rise in recent months, with the manager completely turning the mood around at Ibrox.
The situation is looking much brighter both on and off the pitch, with fans having forgotten about the troubles under Beale.
Rangers were well behind the Bhoys during those dark days, but they have now clawed they were back, and are set to be involved in a thrilling title race in the coming months.
Fortunately for the Gers, their success has coincided with a few slip-ups from Brendan Rodgers’s side, with the Celtic boss now not able to afford any more errors between now and the end of the season.

Up next for Rangers is a trip to St Johnstone on Sunday (18 February), with their rivals hosting Kilmarnock on Saturday (17 February).
In other Rangers news, one Gers ace is now undroppable despite his 20% struggles against Ross County, which is bad news for one January signing.
