Rangers: Kris Boyd wowed by what ‘magnificent’ Cyriel Dessers did v Ross County
Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers blew Kris Boyd away after his “magnificent” contribution in the Gers’ 3-1 win over Ross County on Wednesday 14 February.
Philippe Clement’s side moved level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership with victory over the Staggies at Ibrox.
Dessers bagged himself a brace as the Gers recorded their 20th victory over Ross County, and Boyd was blown away by the 29-year-old’s second of the night which he scored on the stroke of half-time with the score level at 1-1.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News (14 February) Boyd said, “Dessers again, he has scored this time and it is a magnificent header.
“It is a great ball in from (Marcus) Tavernier and the relief in his face tells you, he is absolutely delighted with that, Rangers lead 2-1.
“It is his second of the game, he should have easily had about four or five.”

With all the talk around the number nine position at Ibrox and whether or not Dessers is capable of filling that role, he responded in emphatic style on Wednesday night.
He now has 10 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, which is by no means a poor return for a player midway through his first season in Scottish football.
Dessers will feel as if he has done enough to prove his critics wrong with two goals against Ross County, and Boyd was clearly impressed by the way that he took his second.
However, the pundit’s suggestion that the Nigerian should have “easily had four or five” tells the story that he is still not clinical enough in front of goal.
Clement’s side made hard work of their clash with Ross County, and they will need to be more ruthless going forward if they have any hope of claiming the Scottish Premiership title ahead of their Old Firm rivals.
