Rangers injury news: Doctor shares Oscar Cortes claim v Ross County

Rangers winger Oscar Cortes may not start the Ross County clash after doing so against Ayr United, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Gers will need to get the new signing up to speed physically and mentally amid the lack of game time before moving to Ibrox.

He joined the club in the January transfer window from Lens where he played just 40 league minutes this term.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Given his lack of game time before moving to Rangers, the club will need to get him up to par physically and mentally, giving him a methodical ramp-up to find his footing, rhythm and confidence so there’s a chance of him starting alternate games.

It is difficult to say how long it will take because I don’t know what his current baseline of fitness and rhythm is behind the scenes.

The more minutes he plays the better and by the looks of it, the manager is trying to play him in every game.”

Rangers have plenty of options in attack

Philippe Clement has plenty of options in attack and there’s a good chance of Rabbi Matondo and Ross McCausland starting against Ross County on 14 February.

This would mean that the 20-year-old will have to settle for a spot on the bench which is not really the worst thing in the world.

Rangers have been in impressive form under Philippe Clement at Ibrox.

He has moved to Scotland recently and will still be fully acclimatising himself to the changing conditions in terms of weather and playing style.

In other Rangers news, a former Liverpool and Everton midfielder has revealed an offer to secure a permanent move to Ibrox.
