Philippe Clement clearly snubs Jon McLaughlin after Rangers update v Ross County

Jon McLaughlin has clearly been left out of Rangers’ squad again to face Ross County, as he will be at the Fanzone in Edmiston House for a live interview, as shared by on X.

The third-choice goalkeeper at Ibrox has not featured under Philippe Clement this season and has not been involved in a single squad, even on the bench, other than in the friendly clash against Kobenhavn.

Instead, he will be addressing the fans directly ahead of the game with a live interview in the Fanzone, where he will be joined by youngsters Robbie Fraser and Zak Lovelace.

Rangers team news emerges early ahead of Ross County clash

The veteran last featured for Gers over a year ago on 4 February 2023 and has reportedly been made surplus to requirements at Ibrox. He was expected to leave the club in January, but ultimately, no move materialised.

McLaughlin was also reportedly told he could leave Glasgow following the arrival of Jack Butland in the summer transfer window, but remained at Ibrox despite dropping completely out of contention for a place in the squad.

At 36 years old, and with his place at Rangers no longer there despite continuing to train with the first team, McLaughlin could even opt to retire at the end of this season as he has been unable to find himself a new club despite being told to search for one.

With the emergence of Butland as the undisputed number one at Ibrox, and Robbie McCrorie being a more than capable backup, it is hard to imagine the 36-year-old would ever feature for Rangers again, and his time in Glasgow looks like coming to an end.
