Rangers: John Brown urges new contract for ‘outstanding’ John Lundstram at Ibrox
John Brown has urged Rangers to offer a new contract to John Lundstram after his “outstanding” performances so far this season, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
The Ibrox hero insisted the club will want to keep their best players around, and shared that if Lundstram was willing to sign a new deal, it would be great news for the club.
Lundstram has openly spoken about his desire to remain at Rangers beyond the end of this season, but contract talks are yet to reach their conclusion, leading to speculation about the situation.
Speaking to the Daily Record [13 February], Ball shared: “Absolutely. You want to retain your best players and if he is willing to consider that then it is great for the club. He has got great experience.
“Lundstram is hitting the best form he has had since that season we got to the Europa League final. He was outstanding that season and he is showing that form again.”
John Lundstram should sign a new Rangers contract
His admission that he would love to remain at Ibrox beyond the end of his current deal should be music to the ears of the fans, Philippe Clement, and all involved at Rangers, with one of their most important and reliable players keen on extending his stay in Glasgow.
With the player keen, it remains on the board to get the deal done, and if for whatever reason they fail to do so, it will be obvious where the blame lays, with Lundstram confirming his intention to sign a deal if one is offered.
However, it has been suggested that the Englishman will be one of the highest-paid players at Ibrox since he arrived on a free transfer from Sheffield United, with Gers likely forking out to bring him to Glasgow.

It should be one of the priorities at Ibrox over the rest of the season to get Lundstram tied down to a new deal. He has been one of the most consistent performers under Clement and has earned a new contract.
