Rangers: Sky Sports pundit loses his mind over ‘sensational’ Rabbi Matondo moment v Aberdeen
Kenny Miller has raved about what Rabbi Matondo did for Rangers in the first half against Aberdeen on Tuesday (6 February).
Speaking on co-commentary on Sky Sports Football (08:38pm), the pundit said it was “absolutely sensational” play from the Welsh international as he took on several Dons players.
But he said the 23-year-old should have focused on his own shot as the winger was in two minds about whether or not to play the ball to Cyriel Dessers before seeing his effort blocked by a covering defender in the Gers’ 2-1 win at Ibrox.
“It is absolutely sensational play from Matondo,” said Miller. “It’s an incredible pass from Todd Cantwell. He turns the Aberdeen defence inside out.
“But he’s looking to slide Dessers in. He’s looking for his teammate, but he should have just been focused on the shot.”
Rabbi Matondo showed what he can offer for Rangers
It was one of a number of bright moments from Matondo for Rangers as he looks to force his way into the reckoning for more regular minutes at Ibrox.
He got on the scoresheet for the Gers just seven minutes into the game as he registered his fourth goal of the season against Aberdeen.
After being sidelined through injury when Philippe Clement arrived at the club, the Welshman has had very few starts over the past few months.

The winger probably should’ve done better with his opportunity just before the break, but he showed signs that he could go some way towards filling the void left by Abdallah Sima, who is set to be sidelined for the next few months.
The Light Blues are going to need all of their forward players to step up over the next few months as they go in pursuit of more silverware this season.
