Rangers v Aberdeen predicted XI as Philippe Clement shares injury update
Philippe Clement is expected to make three changes to the Rangers side v Aberdeen in comparison to the one that beat Livingston.
Speaking to the press ahead of the game, the Belgian emphasised the need to rest Ryan Jack as he’s returned from an injury lay-off.
Playing his second game in three days could be too much and he will be rested for the game at Ibrox on Tuesday, 6 February.
Clement said, as paraphrased by Glasgow Evening Times’ Chris Jack: “Ryan Jack will miss the game with Aberdeen as Rangers manage his return to action. Balogun seeing a specialist this afternoon.”
Three changes with Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic missing
Fabio Silva seems like a guaranteed starter after what happened this week and Cyriel Dessers will have to contend for a spot on the bench.
Clement is forced into making two changes as Balogun’s layoff is unknown but his return after one game is premature.
It’s best that he takes his time and recovers properly and there’s no point of rushing him back into action.
With Jack too, there are alternatives in midfield and we expect Nicolas Raskin to be named in the starting eleven.
Due to Leon Balogun’s recent injury, John Souttar is most likely to step into the side as he did off the bench over the weekend.
The third one will be Ridvan Yilmaz coming in for the 31-year-old Borna Barisic, who had seemingly lost his spot in the eleven to the Turkey international.

Despite the exit speculation, Yilmaz continues to remain at the club and will probably be back in the playing eleven too.
In other Rangers news, the club’s quest to seal a permanent transfer in the summer now hinges on one condition.
