Philippe Clement must bring on new Rangers signing Fabio Silva at HT v Aberdeen

Philippe Clement must bring on Fabio Silva at half-time of the Rangers game against Aberdeen on Tuesday (6 February).

The Portuguese forward was dropped to the bench for the Ibrox clash despite scoring in the 3-0 victory over Livingston on Saturday (3 February).

The 21-year-old should come on to replace fellow forward Cyriel Dessers after he’s failed to have an impact on the game in the first half.

The Nigerian international has only managed to have 16 touches of the ball despite the Gers dominating possession throughout the half [SofaScore].

The 29-year-old made one key pass across the 45 minutes, but he failed to win any of his four duels, which isn’t good enough for someone leading the line for the Gers.

The Light Blues took the lead early on through Rabbi Matondo and looked certain to extend their lead, having created a number of decent openings.

But it was Aberdeen who would strike next, with Bojan Miovski making no mistake as he went through on goal on the stroke of half-time to make it 1-1 at the break.

Clement will know this is a game his side must win as they look to go level on points with Celtic at the top of the SPFL table.

After Silva impressed against Livingston, he could come off the bench to provide the Gers with a lift in the second half as they go in pursuit of three points.

The Portuguese arrived on loan at Ibrox with a big reputation, having been signed by Wolves for £35million in 2020 from Porto.

The forward will be desperate to get back out on the pitch after registering his first goal against Livi, which should have given him the taste for more success in Glasgow.

That could start tonight if he gets his chance off the bench.
