Kenny Miller shares new Rangers and Celtic Scottish Premiership title prediction

Former Rangers and Celtic striker Kenny Miller believes the Gers are now favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title.

The prediction from the Sky Sports pundit comes after the Ibrox club moved within three points of league leaders and fierce rivals Celtic.

Rangers can go top of the standings if they defeat Aberdeen by a margin of three goals at Ibrox on Tuesday (6 February).

Asked if Rangers are now title favourites, Miller said [Daily Record, 4 February]: “I think so. Momentum is a word that Philippe Clement doesn’t like to use, apparently. But he is dealing with every challenge in front of him.”

Rangers cruising under Clement

Rangers are absolutely flying under Clement, with the manager really enjoying himself in the Ibrox dugout so far after taking over from Michael Beale.

It really is night and day in terms of how things were going on the pitch for the two managers, with Beale having massively struggled at the beginning of the season.

But his successor has turned things around, having already lifted the League Cup with the Gers during his brief spell at the club.

His side are also into the knockout stages of the Europa League following a remarkable ending to their group, with the Glasgow club also into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. But all eyes will now be on the league charge, with managerless Aberdeen up next for Clement and his players.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement shouldn’t be blamed for his players’ poor pre-season performances

Neil Warnock could be in the Dons dugout in time for that one after Barry Robson was sacked [The Scottish Sun, 3 February], but their behind-the-scenes turmoil will still play into the hands of Rangers for the upcoming clash at Ibrox.
