Keith Jackson makes Rangers and Celtic prediction in Daily Record
Celtic are still the favourites to beat Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title this season, according to Keith Jackson.
Writing in the print edition of the Daily Record on Monday (5 February, page 39), the journalist said the Gers are building momentum at the “right time” following their 3-0 victory against Livingston on Saturday (3 February).
He believes Philippe Clement might be able to pull off a “miraculous” title turnaround if the Light Blues can claim a victory in the next Old Firm derby.
Old Firm crucial for Philippe Clement and Rangers
There are several reasons why Rangers are still three points behind Celtic in the title race despite their incredible early success under Clement.
A lot of that is down to the damaging start to the season they endured under Michael Beale, but it’s also because they’ve lost both of the Old Firm clashes during this campaign.
The Gers won’t get a chance to avenge those defeats until the penultimate game of the season when the two sides go head to head at Ibrox in a potential title decider on 6 April.

It’s down to Clement to keep his side ticking over in the race until that moment and make sure they turn up when it really counts against their Glasgow rivals.
It’s already a mouthwatering clash to think about, but there is still a lot of football to be played before that day and the Light Blues will have to manage their cup ties alongside their title ambitions as they look to pick up more silverware this season.
