Fabio Silva shares honest view on Rangers dressing room

Fabio Silva has described the Rangers dressing room as “amazing” and believes there is a “special environment” at Ibrox.

The Portuguese forward became Philippe Clement’s first signing as Rangers boss when he joined on loan from Wolves at the start of the January transfer window.

Silva, 21, scored his first goal for the club during Saturday’s (3 December) 3-0 win over Livingston and he spoke glowingly about his teammates, the staff and the club’s supporters.

“Everything is nice here, I am very happy to be here. I feel I am improving each game,” he said in quotes reported by Daily Record on Monday (5 February).

“The dressing room is amazing, as are the staff and with the fans we have it is a special environment. The coach prepares us in training for things to be more natural in games. Everyone is involved and working for us to win.”

Fabio Silva loving life at Rangers

Silva made the most of some poor Livingston defending to open his account for the club on Saturday in what can hopefully be the catalyst for a run of goalscoring form now.

Silva has not exactly been a prolific goalscorer during his relatively young career to date and has struggled to establish himself at parent club Wolves, spending time on loan at PSV Eindhoven and Anderlecht in recent seasons to aid his development.

Still, his signing was seen as somewhat of a coup for Rangers especially given there was reported competition for his signature from fierce Old Firm rivals, according according to TEAMtalk.

Rangers

A lot of supporters would have liked another more natural number nine to arrive alongside Silva, with Hearts ace Lawrence Shankland – top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership – among those linked.

But it will be extremely refreshing for the fanbase to hear a new arrival speak about all facets of the club with such high regard and hopefully that feelgood factor can yield a decent goal return.

He will certainly need to contribute in that regard given Danilo, Kemar Roofe and Abdallah Sima are all on the injured list at Rangers, but the early signs suggest he is ready to chip in and ease the burden on the club’s forwards.

In other Rangers news, Lawrence Shankland has broken his silence on the extensive links to an Ibrox switch.
