Rangers injury news: Doctor issues Leon Balogun update after Livingston incident

Rangers defender Leon Balogun will require a fracture and miss a few weeks of first-team action, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the timeline will depend on the severity of the injury as Philippe Clement issued an admission after the 3-0 win over Livingston on Saturday, 3 February.

Clement revealed that he has a broken bone on his face but he thinks he can recover quickly by wearing a face mask.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“Players tend to return to first-team action without recovering a 100 per cent and wearing a face mask.

“Based on what the manager said, a simple facial fracture is what it sounds like.

“He could be out for a few weeks and the timeline will depend on the severity of the fracture.

Balogun injury blow for Clement

Clement will be hoping that there aren’t any further complications and he can have his centre-back available within no time.

A lot of players have returned to action with facial injuries by wearing masks, most notably Danilo this season.

Apart from the injury, it was an impressive display from the club and Oscar Cortes also made his debut after his January move to Ibrox and received a rapturous ovation from the fans.

In other Rangers news, the club’s quest to seal a permanent transfer in the summer now hinges on one condition.
