Rangers v Livingston: Fans footage emerges as Oscar Cortes makes debut

Rangers secured a victory against Livingston and footage has now emerged of Oscar Cortes making his debut at Ibrox.

Gers secured an impressive 3-0 win at Ibrox on Saturday, 3 February, with Fabio Silva, Rabbi Matondo and Todd Cantwell scoring for the hosts.

Cortes came on for Rabbi Matondo in the 61st minute and was greeted by a rapturous ovation from the home support.

Rangers Review’s Joshua Barrie took to Twitter to share the footage.

Good job from Oscar Cortes

Derek Ferguson predicted a few days ago that Philippe Clement was unlikely to start Cortes and he did exactly the right thing.

It’s always nice for new signings to come off the bench for their debut, especially if it’s at a home game.

The Ibrox atmosphere can be absolutely buzzing and that’s exactly how it was throughout the game and the Colombian winger will have loved the reception too.

The 20-year-old has been touted as a potential replacement for Abdallah Sima and as far as first impressions go, he did a pretty decent job.

It remains to be seen when Clement feels he’s ready to start him regularly and perhaps the best way to ease him into it is by bringing him off the bench for a few games.

Gers next take on Aberdeen on Tuesday, 6 February and it remains to be seen if Cortes is included in the starting eleven for that one.
