Sunderland make approach for Michael Beale to sign Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes, decision made

Sunderland manager Michael Beale wants a reunion with Jose Cifuentes, the midfielder he signed at Rangers, according to Samuel Venancio.

A reliable journalist on all things Cruzeiro who works for Insperience and has 468.5k followers, claims that the Ecuador international turned down a chance to move to Turkey.

He reports that he could move to a club in the United Kingdom itself and that a deal is close to being completed for him to join Sunderland.

Venancio said on YouTube: “There are some details to be given today. I came back from talking to someone and they told me it is very close to the deal being completed for José Cifuentes.

“He ruled out a move for Turkey and there was also an enquiry from English football from the Championship. There the club that would be interested is Sunderland, which is where the manager who was the manager who took José Cifuentes to Britain at Rangers. Let me just confirm the name here, it’s Michael Beale.

“That must be it, after all he is English and was the Rangers coach and he took José Cifuentes at the time for Rangers only that there was a change in technical command in October at the Scottish club.”

Let him go

Rangers were open to letting Cifuentes leave for Turkey so they should have any issues sanctioning his move to the Stadium of Light.

The move to Ibrox has not panned out as anyone would have wanted and it’s only right that Beale takes him wherever he is.

Sunderland are likely to have the funds available in order to ensure that Gers end up making a profit on the sale of the midfielder.

With Mohamed Diomande joining, Cifuentes has fallen further down the pecking order at Ibrox and perhaps will be looking for a fresh start himself.

It remains to be seen if they do conjure it up with an official bid on the transfer Deadline Day and the chances of that happening exist.

Crazy things happen in the final hours of windows so it’s really hard to rule it out at this stage.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are on course to make a deadline day signing after what happened recently as a behind-the-scenes claim has emerged.
