Sky Sports share transfer update on Ridvan Yilmaz amid Deadline Day Galatasaray links
Ridvan Yilmaz will not be leaving Rangers during the January transfer window despite plenty of interest in the defender, according to Luke Shanley
The reporter told Sky Sports News on Thursday (1 February, 20:36) that the Turkish defender will not be leaving Philippe Clement’s squad at Ibrox before the transfer deadline at 11:30 pm, despite several clubs monitoring his situation.
Yilmaz was linked with a move to Hellas Verona earlier in the window but has been the subject of plenty of transfer interest from Galatasaray in recent weeks, with deadline day reports from Turkey suggesting a last-minute move may be on the cards [Suleyman Rodop, 1 February].
Speaking on Sky Sports News live from Ibrox, Shanley said: “One fullback that won’t be leaving is Ridvan Yilmaz, he will be staying despite interest, he will be staying at Rangers.”

This will he, won’t he saga has dominated the January transfer window at Ibrox, with conflicting reports seeming to emerge week in and week out over whether or not Yilmaz would be making the move away from Glasgow this month.
But after plenty of speculation it seems as though Rangers supporters finally have their answer with Sky Sports suggesting that the 22-year-old will not leave Clement’s side under any circumstances in the final moments of the window.
Yilmaz may not be the perfect fullback, but he is the best option that Rangers and Clement currently have and with Borna Barisic’s deal set to expire at the end of the campaign, the Gers cannot afford to let Yilmaz walk away this month.
Hopefully, this is the end of the transfer saga that has dominated most of the talk at Ibrox this month and the Light Blues supporters can rest easy knowing that Yilmaz isn’t going anywhere, yet.
