Rangers transfer news: Overtime update emerges as Ridvan Yilmaz exit on the cards

Galatasaray are working overtime in order to convince Rangers to part ways with Ridvan Yilmaz on transfer deadline day, according to Sabah.

The Turkish media outlet reported on 1 February that Galatasaray are looking to bring in two new defenders including Yilmaz.

The window is open until 9 February in Turkey but they want to seal a deal on Deadline Day in the United Kingdom.

Keep him

Rangers must stand firm and resist Galatasaray’s attempts to lure Yilmaz away on transfer Deadline Day.

The Turk’s recent emergence as the first-choice left-back ahead of Borna Barisic underscores his importance to the team.

With the collapse of the deal to bring in Jefte from Fluminense, Philippe Clement’s side would be left short-handed in the left-back position if they were to part ways with Yilmaz.

The 22-year-old’s performances have proven his worth, showcasing his defensive solidity and attacking contributions.

Selling him now would weaken Rangers’ defensive depth and disrupt the team’s cohesion, especially considering the limited time left in the transfer window to find a suitable replacement.

Given the crucial stage of the season and Gers’ aspirations for success in various competitions, retaining Yilmaz is imperative.

Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz

Sam Lammers has already left and if Yilmaz is to leave, he’ll be the second first-team exit while defender Adam Levine could also part ways with the club on the final day of the window.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are on course to make a deadline day signing after what happened recently as a behind-the-scenes claim has emerged.
