Rangers to sign striker within hours as Lawrence Shankland transfer update breaks at Hearts on Deadline Day

Rangers and Celtic are both looking to make a final Deadline Day push for a striker and PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa respectively, according to the Fourth Official.

The reliable news outlet reported on 1 February that Hearts are still to receive a bid from Gers for striker Lawrence Shankland.

It’s understood that even if the Scotland international does not join, a new forward will move to Ibrox by the 11pm deadline.

T4O wrote on Patreon: “I can confirm that until this morning, Hearts have not yet received a bid for Lawrence Shankland from Rangers.

“Rangers are looking for a striker and despite the pessimism, I think there is a real chance that one is landed before the transfer window ends.

“Celtic are looking to land a left back today with Layvin Kurzawa one of the names mentioned. However, the wages of Kurzawa would make this a difficult one to complete before 11 pm.”

Quick

As the transfer deadline rapidly approaches, Rangers need to act swiftly to secure the striker they desire.

With only 12 hours remaining in the window, the process of making a bid, negotiating terms and completing the transfer is time-sensitive.

If Shankland is not the target, Gers must pivot quickly to alternative options to avoid missing out on strengthening their squad.

The urgency stems from the complexity of transfer negotiations, which involve not only agreeing on a fee with the player’s current club but also negotiating personal terms with the player and conducting a medical.

Any delays in this process could jeopardise the completion of the deal before the window closes.

Rangers

Additionally, the competition from other clubs, especially on transfer deadline day when multiple teams are scrambling to finalize deals, further emphasises the need for Rangers to act decisively to secure their desired striker and avoid losing out on potential targets.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are on course to make a deadline day signing after what happened recently as a behind-the-scenes claim has emerged.
