Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz may leave after transfer Deadline Day – Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano has refused to rule out Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz leaving for Galatasaray after the transfer deadline.
In his Kick stream on 1 February, the journalist was asked about the possibility of the Turkish side signing the left-back.
While he ruled out a Deadline Day exit, he said it could be possible in the next few days with their window open until 9 February.
Romano said at 21:40: “I think it will be possible in the next (few) days. Not now.”
Worrying times?
The different closing days of transfer windows always adds that uncertainty, especially if clubs cannot sign a replacement.
However, if he wanted to leave, he would have made it clear to Philippe Clement and the club which he hasn’t as of now.
It would be highly unprofessional of him to do that after the window closes as Rangers will not be able to sign a replacement.
As things stand, Yilmaz appears to have won over the trust of Clement to become the first choice option at Ibrox.
Borna Barisic is now the one fighting for his spot in the playing eleven and come the summer, he might be the left-back on his way out.

Sure, had Jefte signed, Yilmaz might have been on his way out and while Galatasaray might try in the coming days, but he perhaps won’t leave.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are on course to make a deadline day signing after what happened recently as a behind-the-scenes claim has emerged.
