Rangers could sign new centre-forward in deadline-busting deal late on Thursday
Rangers manager Philippe Clement could make a late move for a new striker in the final hours of the transfer window.
That is according to the Scottish Daily Mail (page 73, 1 February), with the newspaper reporting about the potential signing in its print edition.
The publication noted that Clement could try and sign such a player amid the long-term injury to on-loan man Abdallah Sima.
Another striker needed?
The recent history of Rangers and attacking players is never-ending, with so many twists and turns in that area of the pitch lately.
It all began last summer, when fan favourites Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos both left Ibrox for free at the end of the season upon the expiry of their contracts.
It forced Michael Beale into major action in the transfer window, with the boss at the time recruiting four new forwards in Sima, Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers.
Sima has been a huge hit but is now out with a significant injury which he picked up at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Danilo has been hit with a handful of different injury issues during his brief time at the club.
Dessers meanwhile is starting to hit some form after his initial struggles, while Lammers has already been shipped out on loan by Clement to Utrecht.

The manager has, of course, already bolstered his options in the current window through the loan signature of Fabio Silva from Wolves, but yet another new striker signing can seemingly not be ruled out.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have looked at a striker, with the player currently on trial at Premier League giants Manchester United.
