Oscar Cortes signs Rangers contract as Ibrox shirt number revealed, official announcement soon on Deadline Day
RC Lens winger Oscar Cortes has signed his contract as a new Rangers player, according to journalist Julian Capera.
The journalist reported on X on Wednesday (31 January) that an official announcement about his signature will be made on Deadline Day (1 February).
Capera added that the Colombian international, who will move to Ibrox on loan, will wear the number 16 jersey at the Glasgow club.
Busy window
Just like in the summer transfer window, Ibrox is a busy time in the winter transfer window, with Philippe Clement in the hot seat as opposed to Michael Beale.
The latter made plenty of changes to his squad last time out, but in the end it worked out very badly for the boss as he lost his job shortly after.
But Clement has completely turned things around at Ibrox, and certainly doesn’t look like losing his position anytime soon.
It is now his first chance to buy and sell players, and he hasn’t held back, with Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande arriving on loan from Wolves and Nordsjaelland respectively, soon to be joined by Cortes, again temporarily.
The manager has done a fine job in his time at the club so far, but will need all the help he can get as the Gers look to go on a strong run in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have looked at a striker, with the player currently on trial at Premier League giants Manchester United.
