Galatasaray now ready to submit deadline-busting bid to sign Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz as Ibrox exit stance detailed
Galatasaray are set to table a brand new offer to sign Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz on Deadline Day, according to Fotomac.
Writing on their website (1 February), the Turkish news outlet report that the Istanbul club want to sign the Ibrox defender before the 11:30pm deadline on Thursday.
After having bids rejected already, the club are now expected to increase their offer and get a deal accepted by Rangers before completing the transfer with Ridvan open to the move.
“Negotiations have been going on with Glasgow Rangers for a while for Rıdvan Yılmaz, Galatasaray’s strongest left-back candidate,” they wrote.
“Galatasaray, who wanted to rent Rıdvan Yılmaz, offered 3 million euros for the purchase option, but this offer was not accepted.
“Cimbom is expected to increase the price and complete the transfer. It is also seen as an advantage for Rıdvan, who wants to play regularly to take part in the European Championship squad, to side with the yellow-red team.”
No!
There’s simply no way that Rangers can allow Ridvan to leave the club so late in the window, especially when the Jefte deal has collapsed too.
The club were clearly keen on bringing in a new option at left-back, with Borna Barisic out of contract in the summer and seemingly Philippe Clement hasn’t been entirely convinced by Ridvan.
However the Turkey international has been excellent in recent weeks and letting him leave now just seems like a backwards step, especially with no replacement in the pipeline.

His form currently has seen him oust Barisic as the first-choice left-back at Ibrox and there is no reason for him to be dropped out if he continues, meaning he will get the regular football he wants.
Unless it’s an offer the club simply can’t refuse, the door should be bolted shut on this deal at this stage of the window and nobody should answer the phone.
