Rangers transfer news as last-ditch loan twist emerges in Galatasaray push for Ridvan Yilmaz
Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz will join Galatasaray on loan in the final hours of the January transfer window, according to Ferudun Nigdelioglu.
The newspaper columnist was quoted by Taktik Mania on X (31 January) reporting that the Turkish left-back will make the switch away from Ibrox before the transfer deadline, with his future proving to be the subject of speculation throughout the window.
Galatasaray are still planning to complete several transfers in and out before the end of the window, with Tete set to depart on loan, with Hakim Ziyech and Tanguy Ndombele both also set to leave the Turkish giants before the 1 February deadline.
Down to the wire
Few stories have dominated the January transfer window at Ibrox quite as much as Yilmaz’s future with a constant question mark looming over the defender’s future throughout the whole of the month.
Rangers have insisted throughout the window that they want a reasonable permanent fee to allow the left-back to leave Glasgow this month, but for whatever reason Galatasaray have been unwilling to complete such a deal.
However, recent reports in Turkey suggest that they remain confident of securing the defender’s future temporarily before the transfer window closes, even if the complete opposite is being reported in Scotland currently.
Either way, this feels like a deal that Rangers supporters should be keeping an eye on right up until the transfer window closes as it feels as though one of the Light Blues or Galatasaray will blink first, the question remains who will it be?
