Rangers and Celtic transfer disappointment emerges in quest to sign Liverpool defender Owen Beck
Dundee confirmed, on 30 January, that they have re-signed Liverpool defender Owen Beck amid links to Rangers and Celtic in January.
The Daily Record reported on 31 January, page 46, that both Old Firm sides were keen on securing the left-back’s services this month.
However, his playing for the Reds as they recalled him briefly, meant that the only other option would be to play for Dundee this season.
Not needed anyway
The 21-year-old’s displays for Dundee have not been over-the-top phenomenal that Rangers had to secure his services.
They did want a left-back this month but from all the names they’ve been linked with, Beck is definitely not the best fit for them.
Now, it doesn’t even matter as they appear to be closing in on the services of Brazilian left-back Jefte.
Hopefully, that deal goes through without any difficulties as that possibility is always there until the club makes an official announcement.
This time of the window is notorious for clubs making last-minute hijacks and players can be swayed away by the smallest of things.

There’s nothing to suggest that’s the case with Jefte and Philippe Clement surely will be urging the club to quickly complete the deals and not leave anything until the final hours of Thursday night.
