Cyriel Dessers in potential late transfer window into exit as Rangers exit news emerges
Verona and Torino are understood to be keen on securing the services of Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers ahead of the deadline, per Gianluca Di Marzio.
The reliable Sky Sports Italy journalist reported on his website on 30 January that the Nigerian has emerged as an eleventh hour transfer target for the Serie A outfits.
The 29-year-old took time to get going at Ibrox but has racked up decent numbers – scoring 12 goals and providing five assists this season.
Tricky last 48 hours
The news about Verona and Torino’s attempt to sign Dessers from Rangers might put both the club and Philippe Clement on edge.
The striker has been a key player for Gers this season, contributing with goals and assists, making him an integral part of their attacking setup.
With an already depleted attacking trio due to long-term injuries to Danilo, Abdallah Sima and Kemar Roofe, losing another attacking option like Dessers would further strain their offensive capabilities.
Additionally, with the transfer window closing soon, Rangers would find it challenging to replace the striker adequately at this stage.
The limited time available makes it difficult to secure a suitable replacement who can seamlessly integrate into the team’s system and provide the same level of performance.

Thus, they must resist any advances to sell Dessers as maintaining squad depth, especially in the attacking department, is crucial for their competitiveness in the league and Europa League as well.
