Four Lads: Mohamed Diomande set to arrive at Rangers today as red tape removed
Stevie Clifford has shared that Mohamed Diomande is set to arrive in Glasgow today after his move to Rangers was finalised last week, with his arrival initially delayed due to a work permit application.
The host of the Four Lads Had A Dream podcast reported on 30 January that Rangers officials went to Denmark to officially complete the signing, but Diomande is now due in Glasgow.
It has been said that any issues or delays surrounding his work permit have now been sorted out, and he could begin training with the squad towards the end of the week.
Speaking to The Rangers Review [30 January], Clifford shared: “He is due to properly arrive in Scotland today. I think his red tape is sorted, his work permit and everything else. He was supposed to arrive last week but that set it back a bit and we ended up going out there.
“So he should be here, which is great news, maybe he’ll be involved in training towards the end of the week.”
Patience is a virtue
It has been a patient wait for Diomande’s arrival in Glasgow, firstly with delays to his signing caused by the storms and strong winds, and then his arrival delayed by work permit issues, but with everything now seemingly sorted, he can make his long-awaited move.
The £4.5million midfielder from FC Nordsjaelland has stirred up plenty of excitement at Ibrox. Able to play both in the middle and on the wing, he looks like exactly the type of player that Rangers need, and who could thrive under Philippe Clement.
At just 22 years old, he still has plenty of time to grow and develop his game at Ibrox with the potential of becoming a key player over the coming years, and perhaps earning Rangers a bit of money with a future sell-on.

If he begins training later this week, there have been suggestions that he could be involved, at least in the match-day squad, when Rangers face Ayr United in the Scottish Cup fifth round on 10 February.
