Rangers to announce Oscar Cortes by Tuesday as new Ibrox transfer update emerges
Rangers are expected to announce the signing of Oscar Cortes by Tuesday 30 January amid a new January transfer update out of Ibrox, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported on its website on Monday (29 January) that the South American’s arrival will be announced by Tuesday evening, leaving time for Rangers to focus on other pieces of late transfer business before Thursday’s (1 February) deadline.
Philippe Clement’s side are expected to use that extra time to focus on both incomings and outgoings at Ibrox ready for the second half of the Scottish Premiership season.
Not long to wait
It may have taken a while to get going, but the January transfer window is proving to be a rather fruitful period for Rangers as Clement begins to address the major issues that have impacted his squad in the opening months of the season.
Fabio Silva’s arrival has strengthened the frontline, while Mohamed Diomande will add an extra dimension to the midfield. Cortes will give the Gers another wide option, something that the squad is seriously lacking at this moment in time.

Ross McCausland has impressed while Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright are now back fit and available again, but the 20-year-old will give Clement another option and should have the skillset to really suit the Belgian’s style of play.
Hopefully, his arrival will go off without a hitch and be announced on Tuesday as expected, leaving Rangers with another couple of days to put the finishing touches on their squad before the deadline slams shut on Thursday.
It certainly doesn’t appear that Cortes will be the last player to make the trip in or out of Glasgow this month.
