Rangers news: Doctor issues Lawrence Shankland medical claim as transfer news emerges
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers.
Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland will not have any issues passing his medical amid Rangers transfer links this week, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has assessed his fitness record over the past few seasons and claims that any club keen on signing the 28-year-old will enquire about his off-pitch habits and mentality.
Former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones reported on 25 January that Gers’ hopes to sign the Scotland striker are still on. [Give Me Sport]
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“From a physical perspective, teams would likely enquire about his off pitch habits and mentality.
“Based on his injury record, I imagine they are top. He’s shown himself to be a model professional on and off the pitch.
“He’s not really had any long-term injuries for the past few seasons. Will not have any issues passing his medical.“
Rangers have lost Danilo, Abdallah Sima and Kemar Roofe to long-term injuries and are lacking firepower in the final third.
Despite signing Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves at the start of the window, Philippe Clement is understood to be looking at another forward.

Shankland has been in exceptional form this season for Hearts scoring 13 goals in 22 league appearances and was terrific last term as well with 24 goals in 37 games.
In other Rangers news, clubs have now made contact with Gers as another first-team player appears set to be leaving the club soon.
