Rangers transfers: Jefte set for Ibrox medical in next 36 hours as terms agreed for brand new transfer
Rangers have agreed a deal with Fluminese to sign left-back Jefte, with the left-back set to undergo a medical this weekend according to HITC.
Writing on their website (27 January), the news outlet report that personal terms have also been agreed and they are just awaiting APOEL Nicosia to green-light the deal as he is currently on loan at the Cypriot club.
But that is expected to come imminently and the player is due to undergo a medical over the weekend, which will bring to an end the club’s pursuit of a new left-back during the transfer window.
“Rangers have now reached an agreement with Fluminense and Jefte over the transfer of the left-back, HITC Football understands, with his medical also likely this weekend,” they wrote.
“Sources have confirmed to HITC Football that Rangers have agreed to terms with both, Jefte and Fluminense, about his transfer.
“Once APOEL and Fluminense have agreed Jefte’s release, HITC Football further expects the defender to undergo his medical at Rangers. It is likely to take place during the weekend and end the Glasgow club’s search for a left-back. The Gers have decided that Jefte is the one.”

You’d be hard-pressed to find a Rangers fan who knows anything about Jefte and whether or not he is good enough to come into Ibrox and make an immediate impact.
But you’d also be just as hard-pressed to find a Rangers fan who doesn’t trust the eye and thought process of Philippe Clement since his arrival, so it’s worth being excited about this deal.
There is no mention of a fee but it’s likely to be relatively low considering the leagues he is currently playing in, and with the team playing well hopefully he will find it easier to bed in than some other signings did.

Clement has a clear vision and expectation of his players and if he and Nils Koppen have seen something in Jefte that convinces them to do this deal and can make the team better then it can only be a positive.
Getting a deal done for a key position before entering the final week of the transfer window is great too as it means no scrambling around.
