Rangers decide whether to sell Ridvan Yilmaz to Galatasaray after what happened v Hibernian
Rangers have changed their idea of selling Ridvan Yilmaz following his goal against Hibernian, according to bursadabugun.
The publication reported on its website on Thursday (25 January) that the player had been linked with a move to Galatasaray.
But bursadabugun noted that the proposed move this month is now off after the left-back’s goal at Easter Road on Wednesday (24 January).
“It is stated that Rangers’ idea of selling changed after this goal of Rıdvan Yılmaz, whose name was mentioned with Galatasaray during the transfer period,” according to bursadabugun.
Good decision
It is undoubtedly a good decision for Rangers to keep hold of Yilmaz, not least because of his well-taken goal against Hibs.
The left-back opened the scoring at Easter Road following a fantastic pass from John Lundstram, with Todd Cantwell and Cryiel Dessers also finding the back of the net for the visitors.
Yilmaz will have wanted to have had more minutes for the Gers at this stage of his spell at the club, but the displays of Borna Barisic have made that difficult.
But it was the former who was given the nod by manager Philippe Clement under the lights in Edinburgh, with the latter watching on from the bench.
And Yilmaz definitely didn’t disappoint, with the full-back impressing at both ends of the pitch during his 90 minutes.

The display should be more than enough to convince Clement to keep Yilmaz at Ibrox, at least until the end of the season, with talks perhaps then allowed to take place regarding an exit in the summer.
In other Rangers news, one exit-linked Gers man is surely set for an Ibrox stay after what happened recently with his manager Clement.
