Rangers agree deal with Galatasaray for Ridvan Yilmaz as transfer news details emerge
Rangers have told Galatasaray that they can pay for Ridvan Yilmaz in June, having agreed a loan move with the player himself, according to Burhan Can Terzi.
The Haber Global journalist reported via LUE TV on Thursday (25 January) that the Turkish club have said they can rent the defender, and potentially meet that deadline.
Salim Manav also understands that a deal has been agreed with the 22-year-old defender, who only joined Rangers in the summer of 2022.
It has been coming
Galatasaray’s interest in Yilmaz has been well-documented for weeks now, with a lot of different stories developing from the situation.
Having scored against Hibernian in a 3-0 win on Wednesday 24 January, it appeared that the defender could be set to stay at the club, especially after leaving a cryptic message on X.
Any exit would be a shame, considering how much he has developed already under Philippe Clement but the Belgian may potentially want to take the squad in a different direction.
That is always understandable when a new manager comes into a club but, at just 22 years of age, Yilmaz could be a player that sticks around Ibrox for many seasons to come.

Yilmaz has been solid in defence recently and has added some goal contributions to his game, with nothing concrete seeming to come out of Turkey yet.
There is always the opportunity for the full-back to return at the end of any potential loan spell. Yilmaz signed a five-year deal in 2022 so is under no obligation to depart Ibrox.
The club would just need to keep tabs on his progress.
In other Rangers news, clubs have now made contact with Gers as another first-team player appears set to be leaving the club soon.
